Pevensey and Westham’s branch of the Royal British Legion has celebrated a successful year and elected a new chairperson.
At the Christmas lunch, at The Moorings, newly-elected chairman, Tom Drummond, thanked all the members who had worked hard to produce this result, and to the general public who had responded generously to their appeals. Special thanks were extended to Pauline Turner who organises the Poppy Appeal and to Events Organiser Sandra Tolhurst whose Spring and Autumn coffee mornings are always popular and successful.
The chairman presented the Jack Fuller trophy for outstanding service jointly to brothers John and Michael Hone. John is president of the branch and has served for years as welfare chairman, while Michael, has served as both chairman and secretary until the end of this year.
The legion hopes to recruit new members in 2013.
