OLD TOWN Community Library held a special Christmas bash to mark the approach of its 10th anniversary.

Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd donated £100 to the celebrations to show how much he valued their efforts.

He said, “It’s great to see that this community project is still going strong and providing a much needed service to the people of Old Town for almost 10 years.”

He praised Pam Carter, one of the original driving forces behind the community library, and other volunteers.

Gina Partridge, chair of Old Town Community Library, said, “I was reminded of all the hard work it has taken over the years to ensure this library continued to offer a free service to the people of Old Town. I wanted to say a big thank you to them all.”

Old Town Councillors John Ungar and Janet Coles also attended the bash.
