Birling Manor Farm was the setting for the sixth lunch in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice. Three hundred guests were entertained by MC Roger Dakin and treated to a meal prepared by the Green Fig Catering Company at this prestigious annual event which raised £50,000.

The hospice has thanked the many local companies, establishments and individuals who generously donated equipment, manpower, auction and raffle prizes to the lunch. Pupils from Eastbourne Academy, Eastbourne College, Hailsham Community College and Seaford Head School left the classrooms and worked as waiting staff for the day.

John Summers from hospice said, “We are humbled by the generosity of all those who attended this summer lunch and who support the much needed services.”
