THE LADIES of Anderida WI turned a church hall into a street party scene to celebrate the club’s 51st birthday.
The event was held in St Wilfrid’s Church Hall in Pevensey Bay at the end of August.
The hall was transformed with trestle tables laden with goodies and the Union flag and banners helping to set the scene.
Guests included the new East Sussex Federation County Chairman Kathryn Hutson, the Marshdown Group chairman Dorothy Padgham and the Federation WI advisor Heather Hypriet. Little Common, The Harbour, Sovereign, Westham Evening and Langney WIs were all represented.
The ladies had a visit from Henry VIII, also known as Tony Harris, who gave a humorous and witty account of his life with his six wives.
The party finished with the singing of Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia. The ladies waved their flags as they sang.
