A prize of £500 is on offer for the amateur film maker who captures the best story of the South Downs National Park in three minutes or less.
The ‘My South Downs’ short film competition, organised by the National Park Authority, is open to anyone and films can be in documentary, animation, live action, or any other genre.
Spokesman Stephen Sibbald said, “Your film could feature anything from a day out mountain biking, to a quiet ramble, the story of a place which is particularly special to you or about something happening in your local community.”
Entries will be judged by representatives from the National Park Authority and professionals from the film and media industries.
The first prize winner will receive a cash prize of £500, with second and third places winning £300 and £200 respectively.
The winners will also have their films screened at the official launch of the new South Downs Centre in Midhurst, West Sussex in Autumn 2013. See www.southdowns.gov.uk/shortfilm2012
