A funeral with full military honours has taken place for David Martin, the off duty soldier from Eastbourne who was killed in a climbing accident in the Alps.

The 30-year-old was climbing Mont Blanc when he is believed to have slipped and fallen over a cliff.

His funeral took place at St St Mary’s Church in Willingdon recently before a private burial. He was a lieutenant in the Royal Logistics Corps attached to the Royal Marines.
