Staff have been suspended and an investigation is underway over safeguarding issues at Chaseley in Eastbourne.
East Sussex County Council’s social services this week confirmed an investigation was underway but said it could not reveal any details.
A spokesperson for Rehab, which runs the seafront home for disabled people, said, “Concerns regarding safeguarding were raised to the management of Chaseley and these were reported to Social Care Services. This initiated a procedural investigation by social services. The primary concern for the trustees and management of Chaseley Home is the welfare of its residents and they are co-operating fully social services. As part of the investigation, the appropriate human resource procedures are being observed to protect the rights of both the residents and staff members.”
