A fundraising celebrity football match makes a welcome return this summer.

The Once Upon A Smile charity was founded in 2011 and supports families who have suffered the loss of a parent or child from a long term or terminal illness.

The charity boasts an extensive squad of keen footballers made up of stars from television shows such as: Emmerdale, Eastenders, Waterloo Rd, Shameless, Hollyoaks, Casualty, Coronation Street, Doctors, Upstairs Downstairs. As well as a number of television stars the charity also features some ex professional footballers, including Spanish Gaizka Mendieta and former Premiership striker Craig Hignett.

The team plays all over the country raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

They last came to the Sunshine Coast in August 2011 when they took on Eastbourne United FC

They are due to return to town for a rematch against United on Sunday August 4 for a 1.30pm kick-off.
