Six men were arrested after armed police officers were called to a house in Eastbourne following a report of a handgun being seen at the weekend.
Police have just released details of the incident which also involved the force helicopter circling the area in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Officers surrounded the multi-occupancy house in the town centre soon after 12.45am on Sunday morning (July 5) after an occupant reported that someone had waved a gun through his ground floor window and others were kicking his door.
Assisted by a police helicopter and a dog unit, officers tracked suspects to an address in Seaside where six men, all local, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
All were later released without charge.
However, one of the men, a 21-year-old from Eastbourne was arrested on suspicion of intent to supply a class A drug and was bailed to September 6.
Another, a 21-year-old man from Eastbourne was cautioned for possession of cannabis and assaulting a police officer and a third, a 20-year-old man from Eastbourne, was cautioned for possession of cocaine.
A thorough search was conducted of the properties and the surrounding areas, but no firearms were found.
