TWO development sites in Hailsham and Willingdon have gone under the hammer.
A triangular-shaped piece of land, adjacent to Goodwin Close in Hailsham, which has planning permission for eight two-bedroom flats, went under the auctioneer’s hammer for £142,000.
A site with planning permission for two detached chalet bungalows and two houses at 92 Eastbourne Road, Willingdon, also sold in the same sale and fetched £320,000 freehold.
The current commercial premises, which is vacant and has a sign saying Alpinerose Kitchens, would be demolished first.
The two sites were sold at Clive Emson land and property auctioneers at The Hilton Brighton Metropole last week.
They were among 18 Sussex and Surrey lots being sold by the auctioneers in its latest monthly sale, which attracted more than 150 people.
James Emson, auctioneer, said, “There was keen interest in both lots as investors look to property as a long-term investment amid historically low interest rates and high inflation, with cash on deposit earning next to nothing.”
Clive Emson’s next Sussex and Surrey auction takes place at the same venue at 11am on December 13.
