A shoplifter stole hundreds of pounds worth of clothes and fragrance from a town centre store.
Helen Doyle, of South Cliff, was spotted going to the clothing and fragrance area of Debenhams by a security guard.
The defendant, who had a large Oxfam bag with her, was then seen rolling up the clothes and bending down, before leaving the store.
The 35-year-old was brought back to the store and the goods costing £334 were found in her bag.
At a hearing at Eastbourne Magistrates Court on October 23 she pleaded guilty to theft.
Tim Stirmey, defending, said the case would involve probation, adding, “She suffers from depression and has bi-polar disorder.
“There are issues with cocaine.”
Magistrates adjourned the case to assess Doyle’s suitability for drug rehabilitation.
She is due to come back to court on October 31.
She received conditional bail.
