A second-hand shop in Willingdon Triangle was targeted by vandals last week.

Grand Secondhand used to have a sign that sat by the side of the road and directed visitors and customers to their store in The Triangle.

However, on Thursday morning, Jeff Grace discovered the sign has disappeared and later found it smashed and dumped in vegetation by the river.

The sign showed two ladies waving with the words ‘Collectibles, furniture, pine, shabby chic retro, antiques, house clearances, we buy and sell’ before guiding visitors to take the next turn to find the second-hand shop.

Mr Grace said, “We’ve had the sign about six or seven months and it was just a nice and colourful little sign with two ladies waving on it. We would leave it out by the side of the road to let people know where we were.

“It must have been damaged overnight on Wednesday because when I came in on Thursday it was gone. I am really quite annoyed and I just want to make people aware that this is going on.

“I will make sure I get the sign back, even if I have to have it reprinted, but obviously i will have to look in to making it more secure.”

The sign was sat by the entrance to the subway on Eastbourne Road. Anybody with any information should contact the shop on 01323 483179.
