Shirley cleans-up Windows with superb display

A superb bowling performance from Shirley Davies helped Ocklynge to victory against Oasis Windows.

Ocklynge 5-80 took the points with a win over Oasis Windows 72 all out. Shirley returned remarkable figures of 7-34 in only five overs including a hat-trick in one of her overs.

Division five saw Rompa bowl Holywell out for 64 with great bowling figures of 8-35 from Val Rimmer.

Rompa then knocked off the runs within eight overs just before the heavens opened .

Once again the weather caused havoc with the fixtures although two teams put on their wet weather gear and somehow played on Tuesday night.

In division one, Trojans continued their good start with a win over BHK.

In a low scoring game BHK scored 77 in their allotted overs - Lucas Mann top scoring with 23.

Newcomer for Trojans Grant Smith found a hidden talent for bowling taking 4-16. Trina Perry 26 and Paul McKay 23 put a solid partnership together and guided the Trojans home.

Centra at last played their first league game in division two and look set to jump another division if they continue on the way they started.

They brushed aside Lamb Old Town with Coaran Treloar scoring a powerful 121 in a total of 154.

Jacqueline Smith took no prisoners with her fine bowling figures of 4-37 for Centra.

Lamb O/T family relations of David and Jez Twine scored 50 between them in Lamb O/T reply of 6-84.

British Queen put on an a team batting performance with Mark Backler, Helen Smith, Liam Brooks and Peter Jupp setting a total of 111 all out for Woolpack to chase.

Philip Gibbs 4-11 and Jayne Carter 5-65 bowling well for Woolpack. The experienced Kim Alfrey 52 and Tim Carter 20 not out tried in vain as Woolpack fell short on 7-104. Jane Duffy returned good bowling figures of 5-53 for Queen.

The division four fixture between Next Generation and Roselands brought together two young teams and plenty of enthusiasm.

Next Generation, with five players getting into double figures, set a total of 9-113.

Andrew Albon 43 not out was the best of Roselands batsmen but they only managed to score 89.

Borough Exceds ran out easy winners over Taxes with Steve Fowler 90 and the experienced Karen Street 28 top scoring.

The bowling duo of Toni and Alan Bray, plus four run outs, ended Taxes innings on 73.
