THE Eastbourne Festival has been hitting the headlines in recent weeks.

From artists’ open houses to displays of photographs, textiles and live music, the festival has attracted hundreds of visitors to the town.

And this weekend sees the first Green Fayre as part of the celebrations.

The fayre will be in Gildredge Park from noon until 6pm tomorrow (Saturday) and will include live music, workshops, food stalls, talks and a fashion show.

There will be free talks by Greenpeace, Fair Trade, Water Aid and Bid and Borrow, interactive children’s storytelling and eco living information stalls.

The Gildredge Park Bowls Club is also holding a Have-a-Go Day and the finale of the day is a creative recycled eco fashion show in collaboration with Sussex Downs when diploma students will model their creations all constructed from fabric that would have gone into landfill. Tickets are £7 in advance from tReds, 71/73 Terminus Road, or £9 on the gate.
