Police in Eastbourne are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was sexually assaulted in Michel Grove.
The incident happened on Tuesday, February 16 and police have just released details about it.
Officers were in the area on the first week’s anniversary of the assault seeking more information about the incident that was reported at 5.56pm.
A police spokesperson said, “The 22-year-old victim was walking from the railway station when she heard footsteps behind her and then felt a hand pushed up her thigh and on to her bottom. She swung round and saw a man. He pulled his hand away and ran off, turning briefly back to her before running off into Upperton Road.”
He is described as white, of slim to medium build, aged between 20 and 40 and wearing a dark blue hooded top with the hood pulled forward over his eyes. He is thought to have been wearing loose, dark-coloured jogging bottoms.
