Services to remember the fallen

A NUMBER of events will take place to remember those who lost their lives in various conflicts.

On Armistice Day (Friday, November 11) at 11am there will be a two-minute silence led by the mayor of Eastbourne, Carolyn Heaps, in the Arndale Centre.

There will also be services of remembrance at the war memorial in Hampden Park on Friday morning at 11am and at the War Memorial Housing in Victoria Drive at 11am.

On Saturday, poppy sellers in the town centre will be visited by the mayor and Eastbourne’s MP Stephen Lloyd.

On Remembrance Sunday the annual Remembrance Day Parade and Service takes place starting with the parade at 10.15am from the RAFA Club in Wish Road.

It will process to the Flying Angel War Memorial in Cornfield Road. Various organisations will be laying wreaths at the war memorial.

On Sunday afternoon there will be a Memorial Service at the Ruthless Memorial at Butts Brow at 3pm.
