Eastbourne Borough Council has appointed Bruce Gillingham Pollard to lead the search for the next restaurateur of the new Wish Tower restaurant.

The process will be open to anyone with the experience, expertise and flair to run the high profile flagship café and restaurant on the Wish Tower site.

The council says BGP has an unrivalled track record in delivering new and unique restaurant destinations across the UK.

The authority says the firm has been tasked with providing a bespoke and creative marketing campaign to ensure all interested parties have the opportunity to engage in the process.

Eastbourne Borough Council leader David Tutt said, “I’m delighted we have such a renowned agent as Bruce Gillingham Pollard on the team and hope our ambitious plans for the town’s economic regeneration will encourage aspiring restaurateurs in Eastbourne to engage with BGP in the coming weeks.

“It’s no secret some famous names have been linked with the new Wish Tower restaurant but the formal process starts here and Eastbourne has plenty of successful business men and women who I am sure will be interested in pitching for this exciting opportunity.”

The process is in two stages. The first stage will formally begin next week when expressions of interest are invited.

These will be assessed and preferred bidders shortlisted for the second stage.

Stage two is a period of negotiations before best and final offers are submitted for consideration.

It is anticipated the preferred restaurateur will be recommended to cabinet for approval in March 2016.
