SEAFORD & District held its first show of the year on Saturday, June 25, at St Leonard’s Church Hall in Seaford.

At the Sweet Pea & Rose Show members entered their best blooms and waited, as these were judged by two local judges, John Ottaway and Ashley Stevenson.

More than 100 people attended the show and marvelled at the quality of the entries.

Tea and coffee was flowing together with cakes and plants to purchase and also the opportunity to have that gardening question answered.

The Peter Earl Gold Cup for Novices was won by Mrs Jupp, the Diella Cup of Novice Intermediate went to Norman King and The National Sweet Pea Society Bronze medal and The Buckman Silver Challenge Cup was awarded to Peter Armiger.

In the Roses Section The Coverted Gary Goacher Rose Bowl went to Ken Markley.

The Main Horticultural show is on Saturday, August 13, from 1.30pm to 4pm at the Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford.
