SEAFORD Gazette reporter Joanne Smith will be holding a ‘surgery’ in the town each week to meet with residents who have a story they would like highlighted.
Starting from next week (January 31), she will be situated at the desk by the Tourism Information Office at 37 Church Street between 3pm and 4pm, every Tuesday.
Any resident with a story, whether it’s about a charity fundraiser, an initiative or concerns about a problem in the town, is welcome to come along and speak to Jo.
Jo, who is Eastbourne born and bred, said, “While I do meet with Seaford residents as well as receiving emails and phone calls from people with stories, I thought it would be a good idea to have a dedicated slot on a weekly basis in the heart of the town where people can easily contact me.
“Every day is different as a reporter and it’s not always possible to spend as much time chatting to Seaford residents as I’d like, so I’m pleased I can put some time aside and meet with the community and hear about any issues affecting them.
“I’m grateful to the town council for letting me hold the surgeries at 37 Church Street.”
