A FRISTON mum who was diagnosed with breast cancer is planning to give something back to charity by taking part in a 100-mile cycle ride.

Becky Breen and her husband Dave, known as Breeny, will be setting off along the South Downs Way at midnight tomorrow (Thursday) in aid of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice.

Thirty-five-year-old Becky has undergone chemotherapy and a double mastectomy and while she has been disease free for two years, she still needs to take the hormone treatment tablets for the next five years.

She said, “I had cancer on our first wedding anniversary and I was on chemo.

“The second anniversary was more personal and for the third anniversary I wanted to give something back.”

The couple, who are taking part in their first charity bike ride, have been cycling along Friston Forest and the Downs, as well as running, in preparation for the event.
