A MUM-of-three has won a national award after losing more than three stone in 15 months with the help of her personal trainer.
Sarah Taylor, 43, was named David Lloyd Leisure’s Personal Training (PT) Hero of the Year for 2011 after using one of the firm’s personal trainers to help drop the dress sizes.
The 43-year-old, from Willingdon, got one-to-one help from Josh Warrell at the health and fitness group’s Eastbourne club after deciding she needed to lose some weight.
With midlife approaching and her teenage children growing up, Mrs Taylor realised she was stuck in a rut and unhappy with her weight – then 12st 8lb – so she decided to the local gym.
Mr Warren worked out a personalised gym routine and a healthy eating plan as part of the club’s Lose and Shape Up programme.
“I saw results straight away, which spurred me on even more,” explains Mrs Taylor.
“At times it has taken a lot of determination and willpower to stay on track, but Josh has been there fully supporting me all the way, offering many words of encouragement and praise.”
After reaching her target weight of 10st 3lbs, Sarah began toning her body with a combination of gym sessions and group exercise classes. She continued to lose weight, dropping two dress sizes to a size 10.
“I set myself a target of achieving a six pack; my body is now toned all over and my core looks great.
“More recently, I have taken up running and can cover a distance of four kilometres in 24 minutes.
“My fitness level is the best it has ever been, so I’m always looking forward to that next challenge.”
Mrs Taylor, who was presented with a year’s David Lloyd Leisure membership, added, “Josh is an excellent coach, and through all that I’ve learnt – to eat healthily and exercise correctly – I cannot see that I will ever slip backwards to where I was before.
“Every aspect of my life is better.”
