The Rotary Club of Eastbourne is holding a stroke awareness and organ donor day on April 20 in the Arndale Centre.
This will be the tenth anniversary of stroke awareness and during this decade the Rotary Club of Eastbourne have taken thousands of blood pressures and alerted hundreds of people to problems – many were not aware of their condition.
Strokes are devastating and still a major cause of disability and death. A team of doctors and nurses will be in the central display area of the Arndale Centre from 10am-4pm.
Rotarian Barrie Gent introduced the organ donor campaign three years ago and during this time the club has enrolled hundreds of people on to the Organ Donor Register and have given the hospital teams the chance to publicise their work and talk to the public. The organ donor team covering the Eastbourne and Hastings hospitals will be available to answer questions.
