Bottled water is being handed out in Roselands Avenue as hundreds of homes have been left without water because of a burst water main.
Repairs are underway to fix the burst on a three-inch diameter main which happened at around 6.30am this morning in Roselands Avenue.
Currently a number of properties are without water and some properties may have low water pressure as a result of the burst.
Ann Seach, distribution manager at South East Water, said, “I would like to reassure our customers that our teams are working hard to repair the pipe and restore supplies as quickly and safely as possible.
“We know it’s difficult being without water and apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.
“It is very difficult to know what causes burst water mains as there are a number of factors that could cause a burst including ground conditions, ground movements and the age of the pipes.
“Bottled water is on site at Roselands Avenue.”
