Road users face long delays as resurfacing work at the Cophall Farm roundabout starts on Monday September 8.
The work will take 11 days and will require full carriageway closures overnight between 8pm and 6am, when the traffic flow is at its lowest.
The Highways Agency says the work will increase safety for road users, provide a smoother carriageway route along the A27 and reduce the need for emergency repairs.
On Monday September 8 and Sunday September 14 overnight closures will be in place between 10pm and 6am and will require the closure of access to the petrol station and McDonald’s restaurant at Polegate Services.
On those days London-bound road users using the A27/A22 will be diverted via the A2270, A22, Kings Drive, Cross Levels Way and the B2104. Eastbound road users will be diverted via the A2270, Kings Drive, Cross Levels Way and the A22.
