Road works during back to school week

With the school holidays coming to an end next week a series of Eastbourne road works are set to complicate the school run.

The works will run throughout the first week of September and could cause a congestion on the school route.

Affected roads include:

Cavendish Place – Temporary traffic lights will remain on the road until October 13 for gas works.

Ceylon Place – The road remains closed until September 14 for ongoing gas works.

East Dean Road – Temporary traffic lights operate between 8am and 4.30pm until September 14 for gas works.

Upland Road – Temporary traffic lights operate between 8am and 4.30pm until September 14 for gas works.

Willingdon Road – Temporary traffic lights operate between 7pm and 6am until September 7 for jointing work.

Whitley Road – A lane will be closed until September 4 for a South East Water meter installation.

Other works are due to finish before September, they include:

Old Wish Road – Road will be closed until Monday August 31 for demolition work.

St. Philips Avenue – Junction with Willingdon road closed until September 28 for water works.
