A road has been closed in Eastbourne after reports of a large cable hanging from a building this morning (November 3).

Beach Road has been closed to traffic near the corner of Latimer Road after firefighters received reports of a dangerous structure at around 11am.

Two crews of firefighters are at the scene.

The hanging cable is not thought to be a power line but could be a telephone wire or TV aerial.

A spokesperson for the fire service said, “We have sent our aerial ladder platform to assist at an address on Beach Road after reports of a cable hanging down from a building.”
