A TEAM of hikers trekked from Little Common to Eastbourne to raise cash for the Lifeboat Appeal.

The band of RNLI supporters set off one Sunday in June, windward into a force seven south-westerly, to complete an arduous walk from Care at Home Services’ headquarters in Little Common, Bexhill, to the Eastbourne Lifeboat station at Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne.

The sponsored walk was suggested by one of the carers, Louise Eastwood from Care at Home Services Bexhill, and was completed by a dozen walkers including the company’s owners, Dan and Deborah McDowell, with their two children and lurcher.

The company matched the funds, allowing Care at Home Services to present a cheque for £1,000 to the RNLI.
