BOTH Eastbourne RNLI’s lifeboats, a helicopter and coastguards were launched on Wednesday (April 4) to search for a distressed looking man around the Beachy Head area.
The distressed person was reported to be on the cliffs near Beachy Head.
A concerned member of the public contacted the police when they saw the man walking the cliffs at the well known suicide spot.
The police helicopter, both Eastbourne lifeboats and the coastguard cliff rescue team were searching for the man.
After an extensive search he was located near Pinnacle Point by the volunteer lifeboat crew.
The man was interviewed by coastguard officers who were satisfied all was well and all the rescue services stood down.
