A COMMUNITY group is gearing up for a cycle festival which is taking place in Seaford on Sunday (June 10).
The bumper day is set to include stalls and fun activities for all the family such as free guided group rides and the chance to try out electric bikes.
The event is being held at the Salts Recreation Ground and is the second that Cycle Seahaven (CS) has staged.
Mr Cycles and Cuckmere Cycles are also key organisers for the Seahaven Cycle Festival and Jacqueline King, a spokeswoman for CS is hoping for warm weather and a good turn-out.
She said, “It’s a great opportunity to come to a free event right in the centre of Seaford.
“It would be great to see lots of people turn up. It’s for all age groups including those that are starting to ride bikes to those that like to cycle but are wary about cycling on the roads.”
People can also sign up before the day and take part in the Seahaven 100 road ride in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The 100km ride will take cyclists through the countryside and has a staggered start from 9am.
Visitors to the Salts can also enjoy a display of penny farthings and auto cycles, take advantage of free bike tune-ups and there will also be Cycle Seahaven club information stand.
Sports massage therapist Ian Kerr will be there along with Seaford Wellness Centre during the event, which takes place between 10am and 4pm.
The event will also boast free BMX skills and freestyle competition and there is also set to be activities going on in the rugby club.
