SHOPS and businesses will be serving up a treat during the AEGON International Tennis week.
They are being invited to join in a best dressed window competition. The winning business will receive a two-night stay for two at any Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn or InterContinental hotel in the UK in 2011 – courtesy of the LTA – and four tickets for the tennis on Saturday, June 18.
The best dressed window will be judged by the Eastbourne Herald in the two weeks preceding the tennis tournament, which runs from June 11 to 18. The winner and runners-up will be featured in the Eastbourne Herald around the time of the event.
The competition is part of a wider push to help Eastbourne residents get the tennis buzz and for businesses in town to benefit from the influx of visitors during tennis week.
There will also be a ‘passport’ given to the 40,000 ticket holders which will encourage them to come in to town to eat, drink and shop.
To register interest contact Daniel Neilson on email@example.com or call 07872 578649 by May 28.
Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd, who is spearheading the competition, said, “Please do get involved if you possibly can. We are determined to really make Eastbourne ‘tennis mad’ in the run up to and including the week of our tournament. This will drive the public’s interest which will, I’m sure, increase footfall across Eastbourne’s retail offerings. Together, we are getting Eastbourne buzzing.”
