RAFA parade will remember heroes

THE SEAHAVEN branch of RAFA will be holding its 71st Anniverary parade and church service in Seaford.

The event, on September 18, is held every year to commemorate the Battle of Britain in 1940, but also to remember all those airmen and women who served in the Royal Air Force and air forces of the Commonwealth.

The mayors of Seaford, Peacehaven and the chair of Lewes District Council will be attending.

The branch will also be supported by other RAFA branches, the Royal British Legion and 1218 Newhaven squadron air cadets, as well as other distinguished guests and friends.

The parade will commence at Seaford War Memorial at 2.15pm then gather at St Leonard’s Church at 3pm.

A Lancaster aircraft flypast is also scheduled, weather permitting, between 2pm and 3pm.
