Pupils at Heron Park Primary Academy joined other schools across the county in harvest celebrations and helping those in need.

The children at the school in Dallington Road, Hampden Park, bought in tins of food including soup, spaghetti, beans, sweetcorn and pies. Pasta packets, boxes of cereal and biscuits were also among goods that were brought into the school on Friday.

The food will be going to Eastbourne Foodbank which will distribute it to local people in need.

Schools, churches, businesses and individuals have helped back the charity and donated non-perishable items to the cause.
