Pupils from Ocklynge Junior School enjoyed a visit to the Grand Hotel after winning a healthy lunch box competition.
The six class winners were met by its executive head chef Keith Mitchell.
The pupils had the chance to prepare their winning lunches - which included a ham salad pitta and low fat blueberry muffin - as well as having a tour of the kitchens.
The competition was run following a science week at the school which involved the Year Three children in different practical activities focusing on healthy eating.
Mr Mitchell said, “The Grand Hotel Eastbourne has been working with the school for some time and this was a fantastic opportunity for the children to get more involved with the culinary world and to feel inspired.”
