HELLINGLY Parish Council has urged residents to get involved with a process which will decide where new houses are built across the district.

Wealden District Council is currently consulting on the location and form of the Strategic Development Sites proposed in the Wealden Core Strategy.

The six-week consultation runs from January 16 to February 24.

A spokesperson for the parish council said, “This is the first stage of public consultation and Wealden District Council is required to take your views into account in producing the Strategic Sites DPD.

In order to do this they are presenting information about possible options for development within each Strategic Development Area.

“In addition to the various options presented, you may wish to put forward your own ideas on options for consideration.”

The proposals will be on view in The Diplocks Community Hall Diplocks Way Hailsham.

They are also available on the district council’s website http://www.wealden.gov.uk and at a number of locations across the district.

Or contact the assistant to the clerk at the parish council on assistantclerk@hellingly-pc.org.uk

The consultation will be discussed at the parish council meeting on Wednesday, February 8, starting at 7.30pm
