Police issue warning after spate of crime in Eastbourne

Police are urging Eastbourne residents to be extra vigilant following a spate of crime over the weekend.

Since Friday (February 14) a moped has been stolen from Macquarie Quay, culprits have tried to steal a second moped in the area and a shed has also been broken into.

PC Jon Attfield said, “Although the incidents happened during the night it is still possible that someone may have seen or heard something suspicious and we would urge them to contact us.

“I would also advise residents to ensure that their property is security marked and suitably locked. The website www.immobilise.com provides a free property registration service.”

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting serial 131 of 17/2, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
