Police donation helps spruce up Eastbourne’s empty shops

Eastbourne Police have donated £200 to Eastbourne Can to help spruce up Eastbourne’s empty shops.

Will Callaghan, spokesperson for the Spruce Up Squad. said, “This award which will help bring another empty shop in Eastbourne back to life. This support from Sussex Police is a great encouragement to all our supporters and the wider community!“

The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF), made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.

Sergeant Phil Mears added “Sussex Police are delighted to support this imaginative project which provides temporary community displays in empty shops.

“An attractive town centre environment helps to reduce crime and disorder.”
