Police are praising the quick-thinking of a member of the public after their call helped police to catch a suspected burglar in Eastbourne.
On Thursday morning (December 19), the neighbour spotted someone acting suspiciously outside the house next door, in Old Drove, and so made a swift call to 999.
Police arrived within minutes and were able to arrest a teenager inside the property on suspicion of burglary.
A 17-year-old boy from Eastbourne was later charged with burglary and is due to appear at Eastbourne Youth Court on January 9.
Inspector Damon Funnell said, “This is a good example of what can be achieved by police and local people working together.”
