Police are seeking a man who came to the aid of a teenage boy who was robbed in an Eastbourne street.

At 7.40pm on Friday, December 11, a 15-year old boy was outside McDonalds in Terminus Road, Eastbourne, when he was pushed in the chest by a man who stole a small quantity of cash, which was later recovered.

The victim was shaken but unhurt, and a man passing by came to his aid and drew the attention of a nearby PCSO to what had happened.

Detective Constable Karen Colbran said, “We would very much like to speak to this kind man, and to anyone else who saw what happened. If you can help, please contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call us on 101 quoting serial 1320 of 11/12. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

An 18-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and was later released on police bail until March 15 while enquiries continue.
