Police appeal after shed fire in Eastbourne

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a garden shed was deliberately set on fire twice in two days in Myrtle Road.

The first incident happened at about 11pm on Wednesday June 5. The homeowner looked out of the window to see the shed alight and called the fire service.

The following night at the same time, the shed was once again set on fire. The fire service were called once again and confirmed that it had been set ablaze deliberately.

A police spokesperson said, “Although there was fairly minimal damage to the shed the family have been left very distressed by the two incidents as they feel that they are being targeted.

“If anyone has any information about these arsons then we would urge them to call police as soon as possible on 101, quoting serial 1808 of 5 June or 1784 of 6 June. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
