Police are appealing for information after a passenger was injured when the bus she was on had to make a sudden stop.

The 52-year-old woman from Hailsham was travelling on the cream and green Cuckmere Community Bus when the driver had to brake hard to avoid another vehicle on a mini roundabout at the junction of the High Street and Vicarage Road. The incident happened in Hailsham just after 10am on Friday October 11.

As a result of the sudden braking, a passenger fell from her seat breaking an arm and dislocating her shoulder. She was taken to the DGH for treatment.

PC Christopher Storey from the Sussex Police Road Policing Unit said, “The blue car did not stop and as there was no impact, the driver may not have realised that there was a problem.

“However, we would like to speak to them or anyone who witnessed the incident. Please call us on 101 quoting serial 353 of 11/10.”
