Polegate Twinning Association held its annual Burns Night dinner at St John’s church hall. Polegate, on January 26.
The evening opened with the chairman, Joe O’Riordan, welcoming the guests. Piper Les Shaw in his full Scottish regalia, with Joan Hesling, presented the haggis to the host and then to each table. Alf Harris gave the traditional address to the haggis, followed by all present drinking a whisky toast to Robert Burns and the Haggis. The traditional dinner of haggis, tatties and neeps was then served followed by the guests participating in Scottish dancing. Photo by Dan Dunbar.
