A CALENDAR showcasing some of the best photographs taken of Polegate has raised £1,500 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

For the second year running, local snapper Dan Dunbar organised a competition inviting other budding David Baileys to submit images to be used on the calendar.

And building on the success of the last offering, this year’s netted a tidy sum for the hospice.

Speaking shortly after handing over a cheque for the cash, Mr Dunbar said, “Polegate and local residents have been very supportive in making the calendar a success for the second year.

“I would like to thank everyone involved for their support especially those who have purchased a calendar.

“I would also like to extend my thanks to the sponsors for making it possible to produce the calendars and also those who have been able to sell the calendars in local shops.”

Jenna Stringer, of St Wilfrid’s Hospice, said, “We’re so grateful for this generous donation from Dan and for all his hard work in supporting us.

“The support of our local community is vital to ensure we can continue to provide skilled and compassionate care and our thanks go to Dan and everyone who has supported him.”
