THE WEATHER stayed dry for the crowds who enjoyed the Newhaven, Peacehaven and Seaford Lions Donkey Derby on Bank Holiday Monday.
People turned out in their hundreds for the fundraiser which took place on the Martello Fields.
The day included a fancy dress parade, fun fair, games, charity stalls and refreshments and the traditional Donkey Derby races.
Seaford mayor Councillor Linda Wallraven and young mayor Maddie Jay were among those who supported the annual event.
NPS Lions president Bill Yoxall said the return of Punch & Judy had proved a hit with the younger generation, “There were dozens and dozens of children absolutely fixed on them.
“It was a great day and the young mayor of Seaford turned out to support us.
“The community charities and groups turned out in strength.
“It’s great that people turned out and we would also like to thank the Seaford mayor for coming along and supporting us.”
The day raised around £6,000, which will go towards various good causes that the NPS Lions support.
