Post office bosses are planning to move the Pevensey Bay office 50 metres away to the 1066 Convenience Store.
They say the move, from 4 Eastbourne Road, will create a ‘modern new-style local open-plan branch with significantly extended opening hours for customers’. The Post Office is inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a public consultation which ends on October 17.
Post Office regional network manager Will Russell said, “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Pevensey Bay and we are confident that this new modern branch will make it easier for our customers to do business with us and also secure services for the future. The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches. This investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
Opening hours at the proposed new location will be Monday to Sunday from 6am-10pm – including lunchtimes, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday.
