The white walls of the Birley Centre were in stark contrast to the explosion of colour inside as internationally-renowned artist David Armitage welcomed more than 100 invited guests – including family, friends and other artists - to the preview of his exhibition A Decade of Colour.

This is a major retrospective of his work including illustrations for books written by his wife, Ronda.

Talented musicians Tom Salway and Ross Skilbeck entertained on the piano while Carmen and Olivia from The Green Almond restaurant provided delicious vegetarian nibbles to an appreciative audience.

A Decade of Colour is open to the public each weekend until April 26 from 10am to 4pm. David will be there on most days to show visitors around. Free admission.
