Have your say

COULD you take a bloomin’ good photo and snap up a nice cash prize next year?

A new competition to support the town’s 2011 South & South East in Bloom entry has been launched by the Town Council’s Hailsham In Bloom Committee.

‘Hailsham In Bloom – In Pictures’ is open to people of all ages to record scenes of natural interest in the town’s public parks, gardens, woodlands and open spaces.

The judging panel states that the following ideas for photo entries could be considered: floral, landscape, environmental, heritage, horticulture, biodiversity, water conservation, recycling, heritage and pride of place.

They will also consider a range of factors including composition, technical ability and interpretation of the brief.

Prizes for first and second place respectively are £50 and £25, kindly sponsored by E&S Heating and Ventilation Ltd of Diplocks Way, Hailsham.

The competition is free to enter and is open to amateurs only who are residents of Hailsham. One entry per person. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party.

Images may not be digitally enhanced or manipulated.

Please email your digital photo in jpeg or pdf format to terry.hall@hailsham-tc.gov.uk by June 10 with your name, home address and telephone number. Please note that the file size must not exceed 2 megabytes.

Winners will be notified shortly after the closing date and individual photographs may be selected to help form part of the town’s official judging route after this notification. An official Awards Presentation for winners and runners-up of all Hailsham In Bloom competitions will be held in September 2011.
