A bronze sculpture of the late Henry Allingham, Britain’s longest living World War I veteran and a former Eastbourne resident, is to be given a permanent home at the Redoubt Fortress & Military Museum. The sculpture will be on long term loan by the generous consent of the artist, Jenna Gearing.

It will be officially unveiled at its new home today (Friday) and will be on permanent view at the facility, which closes on November 17. It reopens on April 1 next year.
