THE PEOPLE of Pevensey are being given the chance to have their say on the future of the village with the launch of a website.
Pevensey Community Action Group and the Local Action Team recently merged to form Pevensey Area Community Team (PACT).
The new group, which was set up to help improve village life, has been given the task of trailing the Community21 website.
The website gives the public the chance to take a part in planning for the future and Pevensey is one of only six parishes in Sussex and Kent taking part in the scheme.
Owen Visick from PACT said, “The website will describe the village and its history, with a comprehensive directory of all the attractions and businesses in the parish.
“This is intended to help attract visitors to Pevensey and Pevensey Bay. There is also a message board for details about local events and other matters of general interest.”
The website also includes a questionnaire which allows residents to help with the formation of the Community-led Action Plan. The questionnaire, which can be completed online, asks residents for their opinions on a range of topics including village amenities, traffic, youth and leisure facilities.
People without internet access can pick up paper copies of the questionnaire from the library, post office, tourist information centre, Beach Tavern pub, Kiosk in Beachlands, the Court House or Smugglers Inn pub.
The website is now up and running with new information being added on a daily basis. Visit www.pevensey.community21.org.
Mr Visick added, “This is a great opportunity to have your say in the community. Don’t miss it.”
