The pensioner who crashed in to the wall of a house in Willingdon yesterday afternoon (Monday) has died.
The 85-year-old woman is believed to have become poorly while driving at the mini roundabout in Huggetts Lane.
Her Corsa crashed in to the wall of a house which led to a major operation at the scene.
Firefighters, paramedics, police officers and the Air Ambulance attended and the road was closed for several hours.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
Officers say the car was travelling south in Seven Sisters Road.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “The elderly Eastbourne woman driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene, possibly having suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
“Anyone who saw what happened or noticed the Corsa being driven just prior to the crash is asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 101, quoting Operation Connaught.”
