Police are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner was hit by a car in Eastbourne.

The 81-year-old woman, from Eastbourne, was struck by a silver Nissan Almera being driven by a 26-year-old, also from Eastbourne, in King Edwards Parade at 6.40am on Wednesday, July 24.

The woman suffered a broken ankle in the collision.
